After having another wonderful time wandering around in Italy earlier this year we once again got bit by the Wunderlust Bug so…we scheduled an appointment with our financial advisor dude and determined we could afford to start drawing an income from some of our investments & secured medical insurance.  Jay gave notice at work with Thursday June 30 as his last day. I got my customary one inch "helmet-head" haircut and we put new tires on the bikes. On Saturday we’re gonna take off and wander around until it starts to snow or we get tired of riding. (I actually have the mail being forwarded to my sister until  Nov 1 and buddy Steve is keeping an eye on the house & watering my plants.)

Riding further east of Quebec toward the Gaspe Peninsula and Newfoundland has always been on our bucket list so that’s the direction we’re heading riding along the CN - US border. Also on the list, in no particular order are:
  • v  Perhaps the BMWMOA Int’l Motorcycle Rally in Hamburg NY on the way
  • v  More of Washington DC
  • v  Gettysburg Nat’l Park has opened a couple of new exhibits and a theater since we were last there in 2008
  • v  Harley Davidson Factory & Museum is near by in York PA. We've tried twice to tour this facility but both times they've been in their seasonal shutdown period.
  • v  I want to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway again – never get tired of that area - you can travel all 424 miles non-stop!
So I invite you to check back periodically and I'll endeavor to keep you all entertained with what's going on in Jay & Barb's next chapter of life aka "the retirement fast lane."

In the meantime link here to a short video of our most wonderful trip to Italy that we shared with my sister Karen and her husband Michael.  https://youtu.be/g9HSrWlQf0U
